We really need lots of people who love our street trees to make a difference by helping to fund them.

Planting new street trees is a long-term investment in the town’s beauty, biodiversity, and resilience. The cost of planting and protecting each tree currently averages £200, depending on the species. This covers:
• The tree itself
• Supporting stakes and ties
• Compost and soil preparation
• Labour for planting
• Essential site surveys to ensure we avoid underground services like gas, water, and electricity

A few years ago, we made the decision to diversify Helensburgh’s street trees, choosing a wider variety of species. While this is an important step for the town’s biodiversity to make it more stable and robust, it also means that costs are increasing.

Your donation makes a direct impact—every contribution helps us plant and protect more trees, ensuring that Helensburgh’s streets remain lined with greenery for generations to come.
